Overview
NITAAC is a government agency underneath the National Institute of Health which specialize in government purchasing and acquisition.TRP stands for Technology Refreshment Process (TRP). It is a part of the e-GOS system that enables commodities to be added to the system in real-time.In the legacy systems, contract holder upload a excel sheet of their new product or any product change such as price change to the system. NITAAC staff have to review a long spreadsheet to look for errors and validate manually. The new TRP system are designed to streamline the process so that contract holders will use a systems validate the form they upload and edit the information as needed before it goes to the NITAAC staff.
Project Goal
-
Redesign the TRP information collection, submission, edit and review workflow
-
Use system validation to reduce workload of the NITAAC staff
-
Make the submission process easy for the contract holders so they wouldn’t perceive they have to do extra validation work to submit product change.
My Role
I’m the UX designer on this project, working with another UX architect who interfaces with the customer and came up with requirements. I created the initial wireframe and workflow of the information collection, submission, edit and review. Another visual designer worked on polishing the visual style and make it compliant with the overall NITAAC design style guide and pattern library.

TFP main screen: Edit and View Clins (Contract Line Item Number)
This is the core screen of this application. Using a module based approach, we make it the center of the application and it’s framework and component can be used in other parts of the system. It enables contract holders to view, edit and validate the information they upload via excel sheet in a user friendly interface. We also give them contextual information about review process so they can make decisions on when to edit what information and ways to delegate takes to other people.
